CLASS promotes people’s abilities and creates life-enhancing opportunities. The organization supports people with disabilities, their families and their caregivers in building an environment that promotes community partnership and life enrichment. At CLASS, families and caregivers are directly supported by a professional, dedicated staff offering advocacy support as well as a range of services crucial to their loved ones’ success.


Barbara Provest, Member of the Weavers’ Guild of Boston

With a loom in every room of her house, Barbara has been active in the weaving community for over 40 years. She passes along the arts of weaving and spinning by teaching and volunteering with the American History Textile Museum. Under the Weavers’ Guild of Boston outreach program she started classes for disabled weavers by setting up a studio at the Walnut Street Center in Somerville, MA. Barbara has received frequent honors and has achieved the Guild’s rank of Journeyman. She’s currently pursuing a Master Weaver’s rating. She loves designing the warps she makes for our bags.

Judith Shangold, Member of the Weavers’ Guild of Boston and Nashoba Valley Weavers’ Guild

Judith has been involved in the fields of yarn, weaving and knitting for more than 40 years. In addition to creating warps and threading our looms, she is also the creator of Designs by Judith and A Bear in Sheep's Clothing knitting patterns. She is currently focused on rigid heddle weaving and designing simple, easy-to-make clothing.
